I started a new batch of small oil paintings this week, mostly 6"x6". I'm hoping to use some of these as studies for larger works down the line. In the meantime these little guys will be available at my ETSY shop as soon as they are finished and dry. If you are interested in any of these (even at larger sizes) just let me know. I was about to throw out an old stained block of wood from the garage but something stopped me. I could see an image coming through and it just needed to be drawn out a bit more. Does this mean something? Maybe I should stage a viewing and sell tickets?

When the creative well runs dry around here I like to browse through my flickr faves and find inspiration from other artists. Sometimes I'll even go so far as, well, ripping them off completely. You know, like, stealing. Sometimes it's just the kickstart you need to find your way back to your own world. That's what I'm hoping here with my latest crush: Leah Giberson.
